Technology Disaster Prevention and Visualized Management System

Heritage sites are precious assets accumulated over time, and once they are impacted by disasters, it is difficult to restore them, and they might even disappear from the earth. This case involves a municipally designated heritage site built during the Qing Dynasty. Due to its old appearance, it underwent renovations. The original roof decorations, Chiaozhi pottery figurines, are estimated to be over 160 years old but were stolen. To prevent further theft of artifacts and effectively enhance the safety of the heritage site and exhibition environment, a project to improve the artifact preservation environment was initiated.

Client Needs

  • Intelligent detection of smoke, flames, and temperature to avoid fire accidents caused by dehumidifiers.
  • Air quality detection (temperature/humidity/formaldehyde/TVOC/CO2/PM2.5) to maintain the air quality inside the display cabinets.
  • Prevention of artifact theft or tipping.

  • Managers are worried about theft and fire accidents after work hours, creating significant stress.
  • The preservation of heritage artifacts is difficult due to their historical value and susceptibility to theft, requiring constant environmental monitoring.
  • Visitor distribution is unpredictable, leading to high CO2 levels in crowded areas.
  • Integrating multiple environmental sensors is challenging, making it difficult for information personnel to manage and monitor value changes simultaneously.

Solutions

  • Integrate temperature and humidity detection in artifact display cabinets through a visualized management system for remote monitoring. 
  • VFDS (Video Fire Detection System) utilizing AI image recognition technology to identify flames and smoke during the latent phase of a fire, providing early warnings.
  • Use air quality sensors to monitor the environment 24/7. For example, if CO2 levels exceed the set value, the management team will receive alerts via LINE or Telegram and adjust the air conditioning.
  • Integrate all environmental sensors and on-site image records through the GKB software and hardware platform.
